(he/him)
Are you experiencing high levels of stress, anxiety and burnout? Is life feeling a bit too much for you right now and leading to depression, low energy, decreased productivity and interpersonal relationship problems? Would you like to take some time to get your life back from all of this? Better days are ahead, and I am here to help! At the root of many of the issues that bring people to therapy is past trauma and adverse events. I am a professional counselor licensed in Pennsylvania and a trauma, OCD and PTSD specialist with over 20 years of experience helping clients with a diverse set of concerns including depression, anxiety, career issues, stress management, substance abuse, work-life balance, and bereavement. I believe in a compassionate, collaborative, and integrative approach acknowledging the contributions of mind, body and spirit to help you identify your strengths and external resources and to develop tools to not only meet life's challenges, but to thrive despite them. Therapy with me is a safe place to explore thoughts and feelings, gain insight into patterns, intrapersonal and interpersonal dynamics and to put that insight into action in your day-to-day life so that you are achieving all that you have set out to do.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
I am a compassionate helper with over 30 years of experience assisting clients in overcoming a wide array of interpersonal and emotional issues impacting their overall well-being. I have a sensitivity for multicultural concerns and promote a safe and non-judgmental therapeutic atmosphere where healing and personal growth can take place. I seek to understand and then to create an individualized assistance plan to help you achieve all that you have set out to do in our work together.
I work with individual clients ages 18 and up who struggle with anxiety, OCD, adjustment, depression and adjustment. I also have a strong background in career and work issues.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients understand and heal the protective parts of themselves that carry trauma, anxiety, or OCD-related fears. By building a compassionate relationship with these parts, clients learn to reduce internal conflict, soften rigid patterns, and access a calmer, more grounded sense of Self.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I assist client's in identifying how their thoughts, feelings and behaviors all interact and have an influence on one other. By identifying unhelpful and irrational thoughts and beliefs, you will have the power to change them for the better.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients relate differently to difficult thoughts and emotions rather than getting stuck in them. Through skills like mindfulness, cognitive defusion, and values‑guided action, clients learn to reduce the struggle with anxiety, depression, or OCD and build a more flexible, meaningful life.
Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)
In ERP, we work together to gently face the fears OCD creates, one manageable step at a time. I support clients in resisting compulsions and learning that anxiety can rise and fall without needing to ‘fix’ it. Over time, this process builds confidence, freedom, and a growing sense of trust in their own strength.

After our first hour long conversation, I appreciated how engaging Howard was. He asked very good questions to get a sense of where to start. I look forward to our next appointment.
