I specialize in helping clients with self-care, stress and anxiety, parenting issues, motivation, self-esteem, confidence, and coping with life changes.
I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to initiate therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!
First session
I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles with concerns related to anxiety, depression, self worth, and/or self-care. During our initial session, you can expect to have a general conversation to get to know each other and discuss questions and answers to complete your bio psychosocial. This will help to tailor your treatment plan to meet your specific therapeutic needs. We will review your responses to the preliminary assessments that you completed before the intake appointment was scheduled.
Strengths
I focus on helping clients develop a sense of self worth as we work on formulating assertive communication & boundaries with themselves and those around them that can help improve communication and their quality of life.
Ideal clients
I enjoy working with young adults who are in the first few years of their transition from adolescence to adult life. This client may feel overwhelmed by the constant need to please others, often at the expense of her own peace. They ready to shift from reactive anxiety to proactive boundary setting but feels unsure how to articulate their needs without guilt. My clients are eager to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious about their life choices.
Origin story
What inspired me to become a therapist was really my desire to help people navigate some of the most difficult moments in their lives. I’ve always been someone who values connection, listening, and helping others feel heard and supported. I realized that therapy gave me the opportunity to turn those qualities into meaningful work. What has continued to inspire me throughout my career is seeing the difference that the right support, guidance, and therapeutic relationship can make in someone’s life. I’ve had the opportunity to work with individuals and families who were facing significant challenges, and it has been incredibly rewarding to watch them recognize their strengths, make progress, and begin to see possibilities for their future.
Ongoing work together
Clients will begin to recognize their progress as they develop greater confidence in themselves, become more comfortable expressing their needs, and learn to prioritize their emotional well-being without feeling responsible for everyone else's happiness. They may notice that situations that once triggered anxiety or self-doubt become easier to navigate because they have learned healthier coping strategies and how to respond rather than react. Progress may also look like setting boundaries without excessive guilt, communicating more assertively, making decisions based on their own values, and trusting themselves through life's transitions. Over time, clients will feel less overwhelmed, more emotionally grounded, and better equipped to manage stress, navigate relationships, and create a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Counseling can foster personal development in whatever way you may be seeking and help build the life you so deeply deserve. I’ve been utilizing CBT techniques in my practice for the past five years. It’s helped dozens of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life. If that's what you're looking for, I'm here when you're ready to share. I employ a multifaceted strategy based on cognitive-behavioral approaches. I like assisting individuals in identifying flawed belief systems that prevent them from being the best versions of themselves.
Motivational Interviewing
I employ a multifaceted strategy based on cognitive-behavioral approaches. I like utilizing Motivational Interviewing to focus on what triggers your anxious thoughts and the false stories your mind tells you.
