You can love someone deeply and still recognize that the way you're being treated isn't okay. You can care about others while also learning to care for yourself. Together, let's figure out what's happening, understand why it's happening, challenge the patterns keeping you stuck, and identify what you can actually do differently. Hi there! My name is Dr. Jess Priode (pronounced "Pray-dee") and I believe every person's story deserves to be met with compassion, respect, and understanding. With nearly two decades of experience in the mental health field, I help individuals navigate relationship challenges, anxiety, stress, depression, grief, family conflict, boundaries, self-esteem, and life transitions. I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds and recognize that our identities, cultures, and environments can shape how we experience relationships, stress, and the world around us. I strive to approach each client with cultural humility, curiosity, and respect, rather than making assumptions about what your journey should look like. Life and relationships can be overwhelming. Maybe you're feeling anxious, emotionally drained, stuck in a relationship, struggling to set boundaries, or simply unsure of what comes next. Therapy can provide a space to slow down, gain clarity, understand the patterns keeping you stuck, and develop healthier ways of responding to yourself and the people around you. You deserve a space where your story matters and where you don't have to lose yourself to take care of everyone else. If you're ready to better understand yourself, strengthen your relationships, and feel more confident navigating life's challenges, I'd be honored to walk alongside you.

Hi there! I’m Donnah, and I’m glad you’re here. I’m a licensed professional clinical counselor and the owner of Phoenix RISE KY LLC. I work with a diverse range of clients and have extensive experience supporting people through trauma, grief, major life transitions, anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, relationship concerns, and other challenging life experiences. Much of my work centers on trauma and the ways past experiences can continue to affect emotions, relationships, self-perception, and everyday functioning. My goal is to provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you can make sense of what you have experienced, develop practical tools for coping, and work toward meaningful change at a pace that feels manageable. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized. I believe therapy should reflect the person in front of me rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. Together, we can identify patterns, build on your strengths, develop healthier ways of responding to stress, and work toward greater stability, connection, and confidence. I also have a special appreciation for adolescents and young adults navigating the transition into adulthood, including school or career pressures, family and relationship challenges, emotional regulation concerns, and emerging mental health needs. Through Phoenix RISE, my goal is to help people reflect on their experiences, recognize their strengths, feel supported through difficult seasons, and become more empowered in their lives.

Life can be challenging, especially when you're balancing relationships, parenting, caregiving, work responsibilities, and the expectations you place on yourself. It's easy to find yourself feeling overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward. My goal is to provide a space where you can feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported while creating meaningful change. I work with individuals, and couples navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, relationship difficulties, life transitions, caregiver stress, and family challenges. Together, we explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck, build practical tools for managing emotions and stress, and strengthen the relationships that matter most. My approach combines evidence-based strategies with compassion, curiosity, and a belief that growth happens when people feel safe enough to be honest about both their struggles and strengths. Whether you're working through a difficult season, healing from past experiences, improving communication, or seeking greater balance in your life, I strive to help you build resilience, deepen self-understanding, and move toward a life that feels more connected and fulfilling. Outside of my work, I most enjoy spending time getting outdoors with my family. Whether we're exploring nature, staying active, or simply enjoying time together, these experiences remind me of the importance of connection, balance, and being present in the moments that matter most. My name is Kimberly Watkins. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who cares deeply about helping you make your way. Being a native of a small town, I understand the challenges these communities face in gaining quality mental health care. Therefore, after college and getting married, I pursued higher education to fulfill my passion of becoming a counselor. Along the way, I have helped others in various capacities including displaced children and teen moms, working at a homeless shelter and grief center, teaching Social Emotional Learning classes to children in a school setting, providing school-based and outpatient therapy for children and adults in multiple mental health agencies and schools. I have also worked as a Group Therapist for teens/preteens in PHP/IOP Program. Through all these experiences I have gained a vast understanding and knowledge of challenges individuals and families face. I want to continue this journey by providing private individual therapy services. I seek to provide compassionate, client-centered counseling to individuals and families in communities. I seek to help individuals and families grow strong roots by encouraging clients to explore and utilize resources in their communities including family, friends, and faith-based services. I seek to help people address issues they are experiencing such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and relational challenges. I will meet each client where they are and help them work through past and current pain to build a more balanced and manageable life. My goal is to support individuals and families in building healthier, more resilient lives across generations. Hi, I’m Marie — a therapist who believes that change is always possible, no matter where you are in life. My goal is to help you feel better emotionally, think more clearly, and move toward a future that feels fulfilling and peaceful. In our sessions, we’ll work together to understand what’s been holding you back and find practical ways to move forward. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you notice how your thoughts affect your emotions and actions—and teach you tools to shift negative thinking. I also use a solution-focused approach, which means we’ll focus on your strengths, celebrate what’s working, and create small, realistic steps that bring real progress. I often work with adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, or major life changes—like adjusting after a loss, a new diagnosis, or changes that come with getting older. My approach is supportive and empowering. I want you to feel heard, encouraged, and equipped with the tools to handle life’s challenges with more confidence and hope. As an immigrant and a bilingual therapist speaking both English and French, I understand the importance of culture, identity, and belonging. This lived experience allows me to better connect with clients from diverse backgrounds and support them through challenges related to identity, adjustment, and navigating different cultural expectations. My background helps me approach therapy with openness, cultural sensitivity, and a deep belief in the resilience of the human spirit.

I am an LPCC from Kentucky, I graduated with my Masters degree from WKU. I have been practicing therapy early on from internship to my LPCA, my LPCC, and soon I will be able to gain my supervisor credential and become an LPCC-S. I attempt to balance an empathetic approach with a scientific approach to therapy as I think it is important to view situations and client cases from both perspectives rather than only one. I like to remove rigid stereotypes of therapy and approach it with a more holistic and casual approach, again, with that added scientific foundation.

Hello, my name is Ginger Van Meter. I look at each individual as an iceberg! There's a tiny piece of ice you can see on the surface but down below and much deeper is a giant piece of ice that no one can see. That giant piece of ice represents all the stressors, emotional and mental health concerns that go back many years. Sometimes childhood trauma or even current events can create problems that we just can't seem to solve. I will help you to break that ice down and possibly even melt the ice. I always strive to do the best I can do to provide relief and comfort and help life become more manageable.

I work with individuals, couples, and families facing anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, identity questions, and emotional overwhelm. My style is honest, grounded, and deeply respectful of the human experience. I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma-Focused CBT, but I also hold space for what cannot always be explained, your story, your meaning, your growth. Clients often come to me feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward. Together, we uncover the patterns keeping you there and build the insight, skills, and resilience to move through them. You won’t be rushed or judged. You’ll be heard, supported, and challenged when needed. You don’t have to have all the answers. You just have to be willing to start. Healing begins with one honest conversation, and I’m here to take that step with you.

Welcome. I’m a combat veteran and retired Army officer, Christian, husband, father, grandfather, and experienced clinical psychologist. I want to get into the root causes of your struggles or battle and find ways to overcome, change, forgive, accept, and move upward toward the light. It may not seem like it, but the darkness will eventually lift, and the light will surely shine again. Life is a battle in the heart, and I humbly accept that I will be in my own battle or someone else’s battle for the rest of my life. Like the weather, our emotions are powerful. Many days the sun shines, but the rains do come and sometimes a destructive storm hits hard (divorce, the loss of a loved one, cancer, suicidal thoughts, et cetera). It's a battlefield. When it comes to the challenge of relationships, so often, it is ego (wounded pride), self-esteem, and powerful emotions at the root of our conflicts. To understand these forces is the key to peace. Let's work through it! I have been honored to be in the field of psychology for 22 years since 2004. Through the years, more than half of my time was in the Army where I primarily worked with soldiers enduring anxiety, depression, trauma, Traumatic Brain Injury, and all the other usual suspects of psychological distress. It was a time well for the analysis of guilt, fear, worry, shame, pain, heartbreak, addiction, identity conflicts, and sorrow. I’ve also worked in the prisons for many years with some extreme situations (i.e., murder, severe mental illness, rape, child molestation, drug kingpins, gang leaders). So, no matter what your circumstances are, never quit and never give up! Survival is a noble plight!

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Kentucky. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Kentucky from Bowling Green to Lexington! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Kentucky.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Anger Management, is filtering therapists in Kentucky that work with patients with similar concerns.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
