I'm Dr. Ehsan Adib Shabahang, founder of AtReef Therapy PLLC and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and National Certified Counselor based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I hold a PhD in Psychology with a concentration in social psychology and a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My practice provides integrative, depth-oriented therapy for couples and individuals, conducted entirely through secure telehealth. I work most often with high-achieving adults and couples who function well professionally but find themselves facing patterns that intelligence, success, or effort alone have not resolved: recurring conflict, emotional distance, perfectionism, burnout, anxiety, and questions about identity, meaning, and direction. My clinical approach draws on relational and depth psychology, Jungian psychology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Gottman Method Couples Therapy, integrated according to each client's needs rather than applied as a fixed protocol. I am also the developer of Self-Reflective Relationship Therapy (SRRT), a research-informed framework that emphasizes self-reflection, emotional responsibility, and translating insight into real behavioral change. Therapy with me is not only about understanding why a pattern exists. Insight matters, but it is not the goal on its own. I focus equally on what changes in your communication, boundaries, emotional regulation, and decisions once that understanding is in place. I see couples working through betrayal, disconnection, and recurring cycles of conflict, and I see individuals navigating anxiety, burnout, identity transitions, and the gap between a capable public self and a more uncertain private one. I also bring particular attention to intercultural relationships and cross-cultural identity, informed by my own doctoral research and background working across cultures. If you are looking for a therapist who will engage directly, take your patterns seriously, and hold you accountable to real change rather than surface-level coping strategies, I would be glad to work with you.

My journey into therapy began with a desire to help the hurting individuals I worked with in a group home, and a genuine passion for helping others find strength through life’s most difficult moments. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting people facing a wide range of challenges—experiences that have shown me just how powerful and transformative therapy can be. These moments have only deepened my commitment to walking alongside others on their path to healing. I’m continually inspired by the belief that every person holds the capacity for growth, resilience, and change. We can change and heal. Sometimes we just need a little help along the way. I treat adults age 18 and up.

Hi, I’m Marie — a therapist who believes that change is always possible, no matter where you are in life. My goal is to help you feel better emotionally, think more clearly, and move toward a future that feels fulfilling and peaceful. In our sessions, we’ll work together to understand what’s been holding you back and find practical ways to move forward. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you notice how your thoughts affect your emotions and actions—and teach you tools to shift negative thinking. I also use a solution-focused approach, which means we’ll focus on your strengths, celebrate what’s working, and create small, realistic steps that bring real progress. I often work with adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, or major life changes—like adjusting after a loss, a new diagnosis, or changes that come with getting older. My approach is supportive and empowering. I want you to feel heard, encouraged, and equipped with the tools to handle life’s challenges with more confidence and hope. As an immigrant and a bilingual therapist speaking both English and French, I understand the importance of culture, identity, and belonging. This lived experience allows me to better connect with clients from diverse backgrounds and support them through challenges related to identity, adjustment, and navigating different cultural expectations. My background helps me approach therapy with openness, cultural sensitivity, and a deep belief in the resilience of the human spirit.

Hi, I’m Devin. I’m happy that you’re here, and I want you to know that reaching out for support is a meaningful first step. I am a Colorado and South Carolina Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with extensive experience working with: individuals in the midst of grief and other major phase-of-life transitions like divorce, job loss, legal challenges, etc.; teenagers who are struggling with a variety of mental health challenges; couples and families that are struggling to find common ground; and fractured families prior to, during, and after divorce. Building strong families, even through divorce or custody battles, incarceration, or other prolonged periods of estrangement, is a particular area of focus for me. I offer reintegration therapy services for parents and children who have experienced short- and long-term separation or alienation. I love working with families who want to find a way to function better post-divorce. In addition, I spent a decade working for the Alzheimer's Association, which included counseling individuals and families who were facing a diagnosis of dementia. Prior to venturing into the counseling field, I ran a non-profit that operated a 100-bed homeless shelter, a family transitional housing program, and an eight-unit supportive housing project for Veterans. I have a heart for working with military veterans and their families -- having 22 years of service in the US Air Force myself. I served on Active Duty for 6 years, and after a break in service, completed another 16 years as a Reservist. My spouse served alongside me, with each of us deploying twice. Our son is currently serving as well. Therefore, I have been the deployed service member, the spouse left to manage things back home, and the mom watching her "baby" deploy to far-off places. There is almost no part of military service I do not understand through first-hand experience.

However, seeking therapy can give you a sense of empowerment, freedom, and a place for you to heal and see things from a different perspective. I am here to be along with you during this journey. Clients have been able to share the most difficult events in their lives with me. I provide support, comfortable and safe place for you to share your life.

Hi, I’m Tara. I’m a professional counselor with 19 years of experience helping children, teens, adults, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change. I became a therapist because I’ve always had a heart for helping people feel seen, heard, understood, and supported—especially during seasons when life feels overwhelming, relationships feel difficult, or you simply aren’t sure what comes next. My approach to therapy is warm, genuine, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I want therapy to feel like a safe place where you can show up as you are without fear of judgment. You don’t need to have the perfect words or know exactly where to begin. We’ll start where you are and figure out the next steps together. I work with clients experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, relationship and family difficulties, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, parenting challenges, and communication struggles. I use an individualized approach that may incorporate CBT, DBT, EMDR, trauma-focused therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, and client-centered therapy. I am also a Registered Play Therapist, and working with children and families is an important part of my practice. I use play and developmentally appropriate approaches to help children express emotions, develop coping skills, and work through experiences in ways that feel natural to them. One phrase that guides much of my work is “Awareness creates choice.” When we begin to understand ourselves, our patterns, and our experiences differently, we create opportunities to make different choices. My goal is for you to leave therapy not only feeling better, but also understanding yourself better and feeling more confident navigating whatever comes next.

You've built the career✔️ You've shown up for your family✔️ You've handled all the responsibilities, solved the problems, and kept moving forward even when things got heavy✔️ From the outside, it looks like you have it all together; but lately, something feels off. You feel stuck. Maybe your relationship isn't where you want it to be. Maybe anxiety has become YOUR constant companion. You may be navigating a divorce/breakup, a career change, or simply wondering how you got so far from the person you used to be. The one thing you have the most clarity on is that you've spent years taking care of everyone else, so you know you're capable and resilient. But you also know, you don't want to keep living like 'this.' I help high-achieving adults navigate relationship challenges, anxiety, and life transitions so they can reconnect with who they are, communicate more effectively, and move forward in life with more confidence.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across the entire state. If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near your address.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Anger Management, is filtering therapists in South Carolina that work with patients with similar concerns.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
