I’m Melissa Lapides, and my work centers around attachment. If you’re dating or in a relationship, we’re going to look at how your early experiences shaped the way you connect, protect, pursue, withdraw, or repeat the same patterns over and over. Together, we make sense of why you’re experiencing the challenges you’re having — not from a place of blame, but from understanding. I work with both individuals and couples to help them build more harmonious relationships rooted in emotional safety, secure connection, and real love and intimacy. When you understand your attachment style and nervous system, your relationship patterns stop feeling confusing and start feeling workable. I’m warm, direct, and grounded — think compassionate but honest. I’ll hold space for your pain, and I’ll also gently call you forward when you’re ready. I believe most struggles make sense in the context of your story and your nervous system, not because something is “wrong” with you. My goal is to help you feel more regulated, more connected, and more empowered in your relationships and your life. Healing doesn’t have to be dramatic — it can be steady, real, and deeply transformative.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and approximately 7 years of experience in the field of therapeutic services. Over the course of my career, I have had the opportunity to work with adults, adolescents, children, and families in a variety of clinical settings. My professional background includes experience in psychiatric hospitalization settings, substance use treatment programs, and private practice. These experiences have given me a broad understanding of mental health needs across different levels of care and life stages. In my work, I aim to provide a supportive and collaborative space where clients can explore challenges, build coping skills, and work toward meaningful change in their lives and relationships. I help clients feel more understood, supported, and less alone in what they are facing. I support people in managing symptoms, building coping skills, and improving emotional and relational functioning. Over time, I work to help clients feel more grounded, confident, and connected to themselves and others, while also moving toward a more meaningful and balanced life.

My name is Jeremiah, and I am a professional counselor who understands what it is like to be on both sides of the therapeutic process. Having spent over 25 years in recovery and worked through my own experiences with trauma, I bring both professional training and personal insight to the counseling relationship. I am passionate about helping individuals who are struggling with mental health challenges, trauma, and addiction. My approach combines traditional talk therapy with Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process painful experiences, reduce emotional distress, and develop healthier beliefs about themselves and their lives. I believe healing is possible, and I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where clients can explore their experiences, build resilience, and move toward lasting change.

Do you feel easily triggered by people or events in your everyday life? Are you struggling to understand the root of intense emotions that emerge as a result? Ever wonder why you relate to people the way that you do? Is there a relationship in your life causing you discomfort? Would you like to know more about your inner world? My name is Regina Walsvig, CA Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT). I received my M.S. in Counseling and a B.S. in Child & Adolescent Development--both from California State University, Fullerton. I see all ages using individual, couple, family, or group psychotherapy. Welcome to my practice! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California and licensed in WA with more than 20 years of experience providing individual, couples, and family therapy. My areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, anger issues, and self-harm ideation and behaviors. I want to get to know you and what might be happening with you that you are seeking counseling for. Many times people come to therapy when they are in some type of distress. Sometimes this is conscious and sometimes not. If you are struggling or distressed for some reason or grieving a loss in life, ( or not sure but something has changed) I would like to see how we can work in therapy. The way we work will depend on the issues you bring to therapy. I have experience with different approaches to therapy including but not limited to HUMANISTIC THERAPY (includes the importance of personal responsibility, and a positive, non-judgmental approach), STRUCTURAL FAMILY SYSTEMS (includes the importance of family structure and healthy boundaries), GOTTMAN (includes helping couples communicate better, resolve conflicts constructively, and create a shared sense of meaning), CBT (generally includes a short-term approach that helps you identify and change negative or unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior to improve your mood and overall well-being). Please see my calendar with Grow to sign up for an appointment today.

Hi, I’m Dr. Cathy Evangelatos, I look forward to supporting you on your journey toward healing and growth. I am a licensed clinical psychologist in California with a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology. I also hold a Master’s degree in Theology, enabling me to offer specialized Christian-integrated therapy for clients who desire to integrate their faith into their personal growth and healing. I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, which provides significantly more rigorous training and expertise than a standard two-year Master’s-level therapist. Psychologists typically complete 5–7+ years of doctoral-level education beyond a bachelor’s degree, with extensive training in evidence-based psychological interventions, assessment, diagnosis, and advanced treatment approaches. In contrast, most Master’s-level therapists (such as MFTs or LCSWs) complete a two-year graduate program focused primarily on relational and family systems work. This advanced doctoral training allows me to deliver deeper, more nuanced, and highly effective care — empowering you to achieve meaningful, lasting change with greater insight, precision, and support than a standard Master’s-level therapist can typically provide.

You’re the caretaker or the high achiever—the one who always finds a way to make things work. On the outside, it may look like you’re doing everything “right,” but inside you feel anxious, disconnected, or simply exhausted. If you’re wondering how much longer you can keep it all together, you’re not alone. Finding a steady, supportive therapist can be the first step toward feeling like yourself again. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I work with women who are struggling with burnout, perfectionism, anxiety or depression. Many of my clients feel stuck in patterns of overthinking, people pleasing, or putting others first before themselves. Together, we look at what’s working in your life and what may be keeping you feeling overwhelmed or drained. From there, we create realistic goals that help you build confidence, set healthy boundaries, and bring more peace back into your daily routine. Clients can expect through the process to create stronger boundaries, improve mood, and increase clarity with themselves and the way they see the world. I am licensed in both CA & TX, and love to see clients remotely for virtual sessions. In addition to my clinical experience, I also have a background in world religious studies, have a passion for all things creative, and love seeing clients from various cultural backgrounds, college students, recent grads, working moms, and young professionals. Whether you are starting therapy for the first time, returning, or looking for a better fit, all are welcome.

My style is warm, personable, and direct, and I believe that meaningful growth happens when you feel both supported and challenged. Humor often has a place in the process, too. I work with adults navigating anxiety, self-esteem concerns, life transitions, relationship difficulties, and cross-cultural identity experiences. Many people come to therapy feeling exhausted—not because they're weak, but because they've spent years taking care of everyone else while losing touch with themselves. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, relationship challenges, family stress, or repeating the same painful patterns, therapy can help you understand not only what is happening, but why it keeps happening. With more than 20 years of experience, I help adults gain clarity, recognize the patterns influencing their lives, and build healthier ways of relating to themselves and others. I believe insight is important, but lasting change happens when insight is paired with meaningful action. Together, we'll explore your experiences with curiosity rather than judgment, identify what's keeping you stuck, and develop skills that help you move forward with greater confidence, stronger boundaries, and relationships that feel more authentic and fulfilling.

My style is warm, down-to-earth, compassionate, and collaborative. My style is warm, curious, engaged, and down-to-earth. I’m not the kind of therapist who sits silently and occasionally asks, “How does that make you feel?” I’ll be right there with you—asking questions, noticing patterns, offering perspective, and sometimes bringing humor into the room when it feels right. I work especially well with thoughtful, self-aware people who have done a lot of thinking about themselves but still find themselves caught in patterns they can’t quite think their way out of. You may be successful and capable on the outside while privately struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, perfectionism, relationship patterns, or a persistent sense that something is missing. I also work with people who feel disconnected—from their emotions, their relationships, or even themselves. Sometimes that disconnection developed for very good reasons. If you learned early in life to stay in control, rely on yourself, push feelings aside, or keep others at a distance, those strategies may have helped you survive difficult experiences but now leave you feeling stuck or alone. My approach is grounded largely in Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment, mindfulness, and somatic work. Rather than asking, “What’s wrong with you?” we get curious about what happened, what you learned to do to survive or belong, and what different parts of you may still be trying to protect. Our work is about more than understanding yourself. It’s about experiencing yourself differently—with more compassion, more choice, deeper connection, and less internal noise.

Many people come to therapy struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, painful relationships or difficult life transitions. You may feel overwhelmed and exhausted from trying to hold everything together, or frustrated that despite your best efforts, the same feelings or patterns keep returning. You may find yourself searching for answers and wondering, “Why do I feel this way? Why does this still hurt so much?” The symptoms that bring you to therapy matter, and finding relief is important. But they can also be the beginning of a deeper understanding. Together, we'll look beneath what is happening now to understand the experiences, patterns, and ways of coping that may have developed for good reasons but are no longer serving you as well as they once did. I believe healing begins with understanding, deepens through awareness, and becomes more lasting when both the mind and body are invited into the process. After more than 30 years as a therapist, one truth has become increasingly clear to me: meaningful change rarely comes from simply telling ourselves to think differently or try harder. It grows from understanding how our experiences have shaped the way we think, feel, relate, and respond. With greater understanding comes greater choice: the ability to respond differently to yourself, to others, and to life's challenges. Whether you're seeking relief from what hurts right now, looking for answers, or trying to find a way forward when life has become painful or overwhelming, therapy can offer a place of solace, understanding, and hope. Together, we can work toward easing what is causing you pain while helping you feel more grounded, more connected to yourself, and more fully alive, with greater clarity and confidence about how you want to move forward.

I have always felt drawn to a career in a helping profession, and this work brings me a deep sense of fulfillment. It’s truly inspiring to witness the growth and progress my clients achieve during our time together. My experience spans various clinical settings, including LA County contracts, IOP/PHP programs, Wraparound (DCFS), and more. I approach each client as a unique individual, tailoring treatment to their specific needs rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach. Everyone deserves care that aligns with their personal experiences and perspectives, and I strive to provide that in my practice.

I’m a clinical and forensic psychologist who was raised in California and Hawaii. I strive to create a therapy space that feels warm, collaborative, and genuine—one where you can bring your whole self, including the messy, complicated, and sometimes funny parts of being human. I work with people from all backgrounds and identities, and I’m particularly drawn to supporting people navigating grief, life transitions, multicultural identities, relationship challenges, serious mental illness, and other complex experiences. My approach is psychodynamic and integrative, which means we’ll pay attention to the patterns and themes that have developed over time and how they may be showing up in your life and relationships today.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or not like yourself lately, you’re not alone! Hi, I'm Dr. Griffiths - a clinical psychologist who works with children, teens, and adults who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward. Reaching out for support can be difficult, and my goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, understood, and not alone in what you’re going through. I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents, and I also enjoy supporting adults as they navigate life transitions, stress, and emotional challenges. I work with concerns including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, self-harm, eating disorders, and autism spectrum disorder. I’ve also worked in higher levels of care and with individuals transitioning from recent hospitalization, which has deepened my understanding of how important it is to feel supported during vulnerable times. My approach is person-centered and collaborative. I meet you where you are and tailor therapy to your unique needs and goals. I also incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to help with emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and building healthier relationships. Whether you’re seeking support for something specific or just know that something doesn’t feel quite right, therapy can be a place to better understand yourself and begin making meaningful changes. I’d be honored to be part of that process with you.

Hi! I am an eclectic therapist. I tend to pull different methods from different theoretical modalities (e.g. Cognitive Behavioral, Client-Centered, Gestalt, Solution-Focused, and more) because I do not believe in a One Size Fits All for therapy. Different people work in different ways. I am flexible and like to learn more about each client before deciding on specific ways to work with them and follow their lead. I like to use humor and make clients smile. I believe it is important to focus on strengths and will provide suggestions/assign homework.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in California. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
