I’m Melissa Lapides, and my work centers around attachment. If you’re dating or in a relationship, we’re going to look at how your early experiences shaped the way you connect, protect, pursue, withdraw, or repeat the same patterns over and over. Together, we make sense of why you’re experiencing the challenges you’re having — not from a place of blame, but from understanding. I work with both individuals and couples to help them build more harmonious relationships rooted in emotional safety, secure connection, and real love and intimacy. When you understand your attachment style and nervous system, your relationship patterns stop feeling confusing and start feeling workable. I’m warm, direct, and grounded — think compassionate but honest. I’ll hold space for your pain, and I’ll also gently call you forward when you’re ready. I believe most struggles make sense in the context of your story and your nervous system, not because something is “wrong” with you. My goal is to help you feel more regulated, more connected, and more empowered in your relationships and your life. Healing doesn’t have to be dramatic — it can be steady, real, and deeply transformative.

Many people come to therapy struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, painful relationships or difficult life transitions. You may feel overwhelmed and exhausted from trying to hold everything together, or frustrated that despite your best efforts, the same feelings or patterns keep returning. You may find yourself searching for answers and wondering, “Why do I feel this way? Why does this still hurt so much?” The symptoms that bring you to therapy matter, and finding relief is important. But they can also be the beginning of a deeper understanding. Together, we'll look beneath what is happening now to understand the experiences, patterns, and ways of coping that may have developed for good reasons but are no longer serving you as well as they once did. I believe healing begins with understanding, deepens through awareness, and becomes more lasting when both the mind and body are invited into the process. After more than 30 years as a therapist, one truth has become increasingly clear to me: meaningful change rarely comes from simply telling ourselves to think differently or try harder. It grows from understanding how our experiences have shaped the way we think, feel, relate, and respond. With greater understanding comes greater choice: the ability to respond differently to yourself, to others, and to life's challenges. Whether you're seeking relief from what hurts right now, looking for answers, or trying to find a way forward when life has become painful or overwhelming, therapy can offer a place of solace, understanding, and hope. Together, we can work toward easing what is causing you pain while helping you feel more grounded, more connected to yourself, and more fully alive, with greater clarity and confidence about how you want to move forward.

Hi, I’m Tammy Andrade-De La Isla, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California. I’m here to offer a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, valued, and empowered. I am a psychologist and offer services via telehealth for individuals. Problems come from a network of experiences. In our work together, we will investigate these problems: where they come from, how they are supported, what they may be telling you, how you learned from these problems, ways they can be negotiated, and times when they are not present. Nothing is wrong with you. You are simply dealing with problems the best way you know how. As we explore the problems, you will find fresh perspectives and build alternative ways of responding that enable you to build better relationships and handle problems with increased flexibility. I am an interactive therapist working with you to develop and experience more confidence, focus, and motivation to meet life’s changing demands. I help people who are doing ok on the outside figure out, and understand, why they might feel so overwhelmed on the inside. You can gain insight and clarity and increase your ability to navigate life transitions, anxiety, fear, depression, and/or traumatic experiences that have impacted your quality of life.

My specialty is serving those who have experienced the traumatic death of a loved one, with a particular focus on supporting survivors of suicide loss. I understand that suicide grief can bring a unique and complicated experience often involving unanswered questions and difficult emotions. It is an honor to walk alongside individuals as they process their traumatic grief, and find ways to continue to carry their loved one’s memory with them. I am trained in EMDR therapy and have used this approach for nearly three years to help clients process trauma related to the loss of a loved one. I also draw from narrative and person-centered approaches, meeting clients where they are in their grief journey. My goal is to walk alongside my clients as they discover their own capacity for healing, and finding hope. I also support individuals experiencing other traumatic losses, chronic and terminal illness, anticipatory grief, caregiver stress and burnout, and relationship loss.

I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with individuals and couples navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship challenges, life transitions, and patterns that can leave them feeling stuck or disconnected. My style is warm, down-to-earth, compassionate, and collaborative. I listen deeply without judgment while also offering honest reflection, insight, and practical tools to help you create meaningful change. Many people come to therapy believing something is wrong with them. I approach things differently. I believe our emotional struggles, coping strategies, and relationship patterns often make much more sense when we understand the experiences that shaped them. Rather than simply focusing on symptoms, I help clients become curious about what is happening beneath the surface, why certain patterns developed, how they may have helped you cope or protect yourself, and whether they are still serving you today. Therapy with me is a place where you can show up as you are. You don’t need to have everything figured out, know exactly what to say, or pretend that everything is okay. My style is warm, curious, engaged, and down-to-earth. I’m not the kind of therapist who sits silently and occasionally asks, “How does that make you feel?” I’ll be right there with you—asking questions, noticing patterns, offering perspective, and sometimes bringing humor into the room when it feels right. I work especially well with thoughtful, self-aware people who have done a lot of thinking about themselves but still find themselves caught in patterns they can’t quite think their way out of. You may be successful and capable on the outside while privately struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, perfectionism, relationship patterns, or a persistent sense that something is missing. I also work with people who feel disconnected—from their emotions, their relationships, or even themselves. Sometimes that disconnection developed for very good reasons. If you learned early in life to stay in control, rely on yourself, push feelings aside, or keep others at a distance, those strategies may have helped you survive difficult experiences but now leave you feeling stuck or alone. My approach is grounded largely in Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment, mindfulness, and somatic work. Rather than asking, “What’s wrong with you?” we get curious about what happened, what you learned to do to survive or belong, and what different parts of you may still be trying to protect. Our work is about more than understanding yourself. It’s about experiencing yourself differently—with more compassion, more choice, deeper connection, and less internal noise.

I have always felt drawn to a career in a helping profession, and this work brings me a deep sense of fulfillment. It’s truly inspiring to witness the growth and progress my clients achieve during our time together. My experience spans various clinical settings, including LA County contracts, IOP/PHP programs, Wraparound (DCFS), and more. I approach each client as a unique individual, tailoring treatment to their specific needs rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach. Everyone deserves care that aligns with their personal experiences and perspectives, and I strive to provide that in my practice.

I’m a clinical and forensic psychologist who was raised in California and Hawaii. I strive to create a therapy space that feels warm, collaborative, and genuine—one where you can bring your whole self, including the messy, complicated, and sometimes funny parts of being human. I work with people from all backgrounds and identities, and I’m particularly drawn to supporting people navigating grief, life transitions, multicultural identities, relationship challenges, serious mental illness, and other complex experiences. My approach is psychodynamic and integrative, which means we’ll pay attention to the patterns and themes that have developed over time and how they may be showing up in your life and relationships today.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or not like yourself lately, you’re not alone! Hi, I'm Dr. Griffiths - a clinical psychologist who works with children, teens, and adults who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward. Reaching out for support can be difficult, and my goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, understood, and not alone in what you’re going through. I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents, and I also enjoy supporting adults as they navigate life transitions, stress, and emotional challenges. I work with concerns including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, self-harm, eating disorders, and autism spectrum disorder. I’ve also worked in higher levels of care and with individuals transitioning from recent hospitalization, which has deepened my understanding of how important it is to feel supported during vulnerable times. My approach is person-centered and collaborative. I meet you where you are and tailor therapy to your unique needs and goals. I also incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to help with emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and building healthier relationships. Whether you’re seeking support for something specific or just know that something doesn’t feel quite right, therapy can be a place to better understand yourself and begin making meaningful changes. I’d be honored to be part of that process with you.

Hi! I am an eclectic therapist. I tend to pull different methods from different theoretical modalities (e.g. Cognitive Behavioral, Client-Centered, Gestalt, Solution-Focused, and more) because I do not believe in a One Size Fits All for therapy. Different people work in different ways. I am flexible and like to learn more about each client before deciding on specific ways to work with them and follow their lead. I like to use humor and make clients smile. I believe it is important to focus on strengths and will provide suggestions/assign homework.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in California. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
