Hi, I'm Shelly — a licensed professional counselor with a passion for helping people find their footing when life feels overwhelming. My journey in mental health began decades ago in music therapy, working in psychiatric settings where I first witnessed the remarkable capacity people have to heal when given the right support and a safe space. That foundation shapes the way I work to this day — with attunement, creativity, and a deep belief in each person's capacity to heal. I specialize in anxiety, OCD, trauma, and addiction recovery, using evidence-based approaches including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients build real, lasting skills rather than just temporary relief. I have a particular heart for neurodivergent individuals — including those with ADHD and autism — who may have spent years feeling misunderstood. You do fit — sometimes it just takes the right space to discover that. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. Good therapy isn't just about insight — it's about leaving each session with something you can actually use. I'll meet you where you are, move at a pace that feels right, and work hard to make sure our time together is meaningful. For clients who desire it, I welcome the integration of faith and spirituality into our work. I believe healing touches the whole person — mind, heart, and spirit — and that for many people, faith isn't separate from their healing but central to it. I hold that with care and without pressure. Whether you're navigating a specific struggle or carrying a weight you've held for too long, you don't have to do it alone. Reaching out is the hardest step — and I'm really glad you're here. I'd love the opportunity to connect.

Hi! I am a LPC with fourteen years of experience in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, interpersonal struggles, and poor self-esteem. I specialize in using CBT based therapies. I also have a lot of experience treating trauma with EMDR and narrative-based methods. I believe that trauma plays a big role in the lives of people. Trauma comes in many forms and levels of impact. If we are able to process trauma and find healing, we can experience growth, wisdom, and strength of character. If not processed and healed, trauma can become a source of depression, isolation, anxiety and loss of identity. Secondary to the trauma treatment is focus on coping, communication, connections, identity building, and problem solving. We will work to build a better sense of power and control in your life, which is the core of emotional and psychological well-being.

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 12 years of experience in crisis response, clinical assessment, and trauma-informed care. I work primarily with adults and adolescents (12+) navigating trauma, anxiety, ADHD, burnout, and major life transitions. My approach draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT). I believe therapy should help people become more confident in understanding themselves and responding to life's challenges. My goal isn't to provide all the answers, but to help clients leave with the perspective and a different way of navigating challenges. Before entering outpatient practice, I spent many years working in crisis services and involuntary treatment settings. That experience reinforced something I continue to believe deeply: people are often capable of far more change than they realize. Everyone has the capacity to get better and make positive changes. I especially enjoy working with people who are curious, reflective, and invested in their own growth. Many of my clients are professionals, entrepreneurs, healthcare workers, first responders, and others balancing demanding lives while striving to live with greater purpose and intention. As someone who is neurodivergent myself, I also understand firsthand both the strengths and challenges that can come with ADHD, and I enjoy helping clients build systems that work with their brains rather than against them.

Hello, I'm Cheryl. I believe healing is most effective when we care for the whole person—mind and body together. After more than two decades as a counselor, I returned to school to become a Nurse Practitioner so I could provide more comprehensive care. Today, I combine both perspectives to help people find lasting improvements in their mental and emotional well-being. My background allows me to look at the bigger picture. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, sleep concerns, the emotional impact of a medical condition, or navigating a difficult life transition, we'll work together to understand what is contributing to your symptoms and develop a treatment plan that fits your goals, values, and lifestyle. I believe every person deserves to be treated with respect, compassion, and genuine curiosity. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor each session to your individual needs. My work draws from evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, psychodynamic principles, and other therapeutic approaches when appropriate. The goal isn't to fit you into a particular treatment model—it's to find what works best for you.

As a licensed clinical social worker, I am committed to collecting evidenced based "tools for my toolbox" to aid those grappling with finding the new normal after their world has shifted. I most love helping people find language to describe their losses, often when there has been difficulty finding the words, inspiring people to find hope again, and facilitate the development of a plan to move forward in a way that both honors their experiences and embraces the future. I take an action-oriented, collaborative approach to therapy. I utilize a combination of psychoeducation, storytelling, and evidenced-based interventions to offer meaningful insight to support clients’ healing. I strongly believe that rock bottom is the foundation upon which we can rebuild our lives. We do regular check-ins to review progress along the way. Our goal is not to change the past, but instead to find some relief from symptoms that impact daily functioning. I will solicit feedback regularly during sessions for takeaways to gauge progress and curate treatment interventions based on what is most engaging and productive for the individual client.

Hello, and welcome. I am Dr. Samuel Hickson, PhD, LCSW, a licensed psychotherapist, neuropsychotherapist, clinical researcher, educator, and healthcare consultant dedicated to providing evidence-based psychotherapy for adults. My practice is built on the belief that healing begins with understanding ourselves, rebuilding trust, and developing the resilience needed to navigate life's challenges with confidence and purpose. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, burnout, healthcare-related stress, identity transitions, chronic illness adjustment, grief, and major life changes. My therapeutic approach integrates neuropsychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, and strengths-based practices to create individualized treatment plans that are both compassionate and grounded in scientific research. My professional background extends beyond traditional psychotherapy. With over 14 years of healthcare experience, a PhD in Human Behavior, an MBA focused on Corporate Social Responsibility, and extensive work in clinical research and behavioral health, I bring a multidisciplinary perspective that bridges neuroscience, psychology, healthcare systems, and organizational well-being. This allows me to understand not only the emotional challenges my clients face but also the broader healthcare, workplace, and life circumstances that influence mental health. In addition to psychotherapy, I provide professional consultation in risk management, clinical documentation, quality improvement, standards of care, and behavioral health operations for healthcare organizations and private practices. Whether you are seeking support during a difficult transition or looking to strengthen resilience and reconnect with your values, my goal is to provide a collaborative, respectful, and affirming therapeutic environment where meaningful, lasting change can occur. Hi, I’m Angela. I understand that reaching out for support is often the hardest part of the journey, especially when you feel life is heavy or uncertain. My goal is to meet you exactly where you are, whether you are navigating the complexities of recovery, the weight of grief, or the shifting transitions of midlife. Since 2016, I have focused my career on supporting adults through the challenges of substance use, working across all levels of care, including detox, residential, and medication-assisted treatment. As both a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Addiction Counselor, I have invested significant additional education and clinical hours specifically in the field of addiction. I believe it is important to work with a therapist who focuses on these patterns, as alcohol and substance use rarely exist in isolation. They are often intertwined with anxiety, codependency, trauma, and relationship stress. In our sessions, we will explore how these challenges impact one another and work toward your specific goals for change, whether that involves moderation or choosing abstinence. I am also passionate about supporting women navigating the challenges of perimenopause and menopause. This stage of life frequently brings a surge of symptoms such as irritability, brain fog, and anxiety where you might find yourself drinking more than you intended just to get through the day. I offer a nonjudgmental space to address these symptoms, helping you develop healthier ways to cope so you can feel like yourself again. My practice is built on a foundation of grace, respect, and the belief in the inherent dignity of every individual. I provide a supportive environment where we can work through the messiness together to build a life that aligns with your true values and goals.

I feel like y job as a therapist is to be a non ojective person for my clients to listen to. I have been a therapist for over 15 years and I find that the process is organic if they are comfortable and fit with the right therapist for them. I am here to listen, guide, educate, process and support my clients, meeting them where they are in live and helping guide them to where they want to go.

I’m a warm, engaged therapist who genuinely enjoys working with the complicated stuff—the patterns that don’t make sense, the coping strategies that worked until they didn’t, and the parts of yourself you might not quite know what to do with. My approach is curious, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I’m an active participant in therapy: I’ll ask questions, help you make connections, offer another perspective when it might be useful, and gently challenge you when we’ve built the trust to do that. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you walk in, and there will probably be some dry humor along the way.

Hello. You have taken one of the hardest steps by looking into and beginning therapy. I have prior medical experience but changed career paths in 2001. I am originally from Texas but have lived in Colorado since 1997. I believe that you are the best historian for your past and I am a guide to help you walk through your present and into your best future. There is no judgment in my practice and all are welcome. I do offer spiritual/Christian counseling if this is something you are looking for. If you choose to attend sessions in the office you will also be greeted by tail wags from a furry friend. Jack and Jill are training to be in the office with clients and are proving proving to be a comfort in session.

I have been in the mental health field since 1996 and a licensed clinician since 2010. I am licensed in Texas and Colorado. I specialize in working with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and co-occurring substance use concerns. My approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and focuses on identifying maladaptive patterns, improving emotional regulation, and developing practical coping strategies to support long-term change. I’m passionate about helping people recognize their strengths and build a life that feels more balanced and intentional. I believe therapy should feel both supportive and useful. I work to help clients better understand what’s driving their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, while building real-life tools to manage stress, improve mood, and move forward. My approach is down-to-earth, structured, and tailored to your goals.

Hello, I am Tom. I understand that our lives are profoundly shaped by significant people and experiences that influence the way we connect with others, how we think, and how we perceive the world around us. Some of these experiences are joyful and uplifting, while others may bring pain. It is natural for both types of experiences to leave a lasting mark on our identity, self-esteem, and sense of purpose. My goal is to walk alongside you as you explore the meaning behind these relationships and experiences. I offer a compassionate and supportive space where we can meet you right where you are, nurturing a genuine therapeutic relationship. I work with individuals, couples, and teenagers, and my approach is both eclectic and strengths-based. I focus on a variety of issues, including attachment, trauma, anxiety, and depression. Additionally, I understand the challenges surrounding behavior management, parenting, divorce recovery, and offer Christian counseling. I also have experience in navigating ADHD, family dynamics, intimate relationships, sexual health, stress, and spirituality. As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a Master of Arts (MA) degree, I bring both my professional expertise and genuine commitment to our sessions together. It is truly a privilege for me to accompany you on your journey toward healing from past experiences, navigating the present, and fostering meaningful change for the future. If you feel ready to take that important next step, I am here to support you every step of the way.

Hi, I’m Demetria Agharese, and I help people who are tired of feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or disconnected from themselves find their way forward. My ideal clients are adults who may look like they have it all together on the outside but are quietly struggling on the inside. You may be the person everyone depends on while privately battling anxiety, intrusive thoughts, OCD, self-doubt, burnout, relationship difficulties, or the pressure to constantly “hold it all together.” Maybe your mind won’t shut off. You overthink every decision, question your feelings, replay conversations, worry about what might happen, or feel trapped by thoughts you wish you could turn off. Maybe you’re navigating a breakup, divorce, major life transition, low self-esteem, or simply wondering, “How did I lose myself?” You don’t have to continue living that way. I offer a warm, genuine, culturally responsive, and judgment-free space where you can put down the weight you’ve been carrying and talk openly about what’s really happening. I don’t believe therapy should feel like sitting across from someone who simply checks boxes on a diagnosis list. I believe you deserve to feel heard, understood, challenged when needed, and supported throughout the process. Using evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ERP, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, behavioral strategies, and mindfulness, I help clients break unhelpful cycles, face fears, manage difficult emotions, build confidence, establish healthier boundaries, and become less controlled by anxiety and uncertainty. Most importantly, therapy with me is collaborative. I’m not here to tell you who you should be. I’m here to help you discover who you are, understand what matters to you, and develop the confidence to live accordingly. If you’re ready to stop simply surviving and start creating a life that feels more peaceful, authentic, confident, and meaningful, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across the entire state. If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near your address.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
