Starting therapy can feel empowering, confusing, or even intimidating—and it’s worth taking a moment to recognize the courage it takes to take this first step toward caring for your mental health. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment where you can explore challenges related to anxiety, depression, self-care, and more. My goal is to help you strengthen communication and boundaries with yourself and others so that you can improve your quality of life and move toward the future you envision. Therapy is not just about overcoming obstacles—it’s also about personal growth. Together, we’ll clarify your goals and identify strategies to help you move toward them, whether that means change over the next month, six months, or a year. You’ll leave our sessions with practical insights and “next steps” you can put into action right away. I believe life’s purpose isn’t simply to be happy, but to find meaning—and within that meaning, joy emerges. While the journey isn’t always easy, it can be transformative. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Addictions Professional, Internationally Certified Drug Counselor, and Behavior Analyst. I take a strength-based approach, helping you use your unique abilities to address challenges. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to empower you in creating lasting change. Most importantly, I bring a relaxed, compassionate, and trustworthy presence, fostering a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe and supported.

Welcome!! I’m Laura Schwades, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida. If you are reading this, it likely means you are going through something difficult, and I want you to know that you are not alone. Whether you are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck in sadness, or trying to make sense of past trauma or substance use, I see your courage in looking for support. It takes strength to ask for help, and I truly honor that step. I specialize in working with adolescents and adults who are navigating these very challenges. I understand how heavy life can feel at times and how hard it can be to open up, especially when you are unsure if anyone will truly listen or understand. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and never judged; a space where we can talk openly and work together to help you find clarity, confidence, and healing. I will meet you where you are, and together we will build tools that help you manage emotions, understand yourself more deeply, and create meaningful change in your life. Whether you are just starting out or have tried therapy before, this is your space, and I am here to help guide you through it. You do not have to carry it all alone. Healing takes time. But it starts with a single step, and I would be honored to be part of that journey with you. If you are ready to talk, I invite you to reach out. I am here when you are ready.

My name is Nikki Caravella and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Florida. I earned my Undergraduate Degree in Social Work at Youngstown State University in 1996 and my Master's Degree at Case Western Reserve University in 1998. Since that time, I have had the privilege of working with a diverse group of clients. Each of them came into service bringing a unique history and presenting with equally distinct needs and expectations of counseling. As a therapist, I treat a wide range of mental health issues and life adjustment challenges. I am experienced in helping clients relieve anxiety using various techniques, including neuro-linguistic programming. For those who have suffered past traumatic events, we can use cognitive/behavioral tools to help reconcile the emotions connected to the events. If you happen to live in or near Ocala and are able to come in person for session, we can utilize a treatment called Accelerated Resolution Therapy to neutralize heightened emotional responses.

What effect do you hope that therapy will have on your life? Are you looking for someone to support you in difficult times? Is it your goal to thrive, rather than just survive? Perhaps you want to explore past events and see how they might be affecting your present. My name is Teresa, and I would be honored to walk with you as you navigate life. I work with individuals who have taken on the role of caregiver, whether professional or personal, in avoiding burnout and compassion fatigue. I empower others in creating and enforcing boundaries. I also assist individuals in cultivating a strong sense of self-worth. I guide individuals who are processing trauma and provide support and care. I support individuals of all races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities, and religions. I am nonjudgmental and supportive of individuals who are in any stage of recovery from substances or any other addictions. I hope to create a genuine, caring environment (yes, even in teletherapy!) exhibiting acceptance and celebration of who you truly are.

Hola! I’m a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with more than a decade of experience in mental health, behavioral health, and non-profit work. I grew up in Los Angeles, completed my Master of Social Work at Fordham University in the Bronx, and now call Ocala, Florida home. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals and families across the lifespan, each with their own unique stories and needs. My work is guided by an integrative approach, meaning I draw from a variety of therapeutic methods to find what fits best for you. I’ve worked extensively with family systems, intergenerational trauma, parents and children facing behavioral challenges, neurodivergent individuals, women navigating life transitions, and people seeking to better understand themselves and the patterns that may be causing distress, mood difficulties, anxiety, or OCD. Some of my specialties include helping young adults transition into life after high school, supporting parents and partners as they navigate family life, and walking alongside Latina women who are balancing relationships, cultural expectations, independence, and self-care. I believe deeply that every person’s journey is unique. That’s why I focus on meeting you exactly where you are, empowering you to uncover strengths, solutions, and coping strategies that work for your life. While I am trained in CBT and DBT, I see these as tools within a broader, collaborative process. At the heart of my practice is client-centered care — because there is no single path to healing that fits everyone. Together, we’ll create a treatment plan that honors your voice, builds on your resilience, and empowers you to move toward the life you want to live.

I am a licensed therapist in Florida and Connecticut specializing in supporting seniors, older adults, and medically complex patients navigating chronic illness, health changes, grief, anxiety, and major life transitions. My work centers on helping individuals who have spent a lifetime “pushing through” finally have a space where they can slow down, feel understood, and receive steady emotional support. My background includes extensive experience with chronic illness, medical trauma, caregiver stress, mobility changes, and the emotional impact of aging. I understand how health challenges affect identity, independence, relationships, and daily life. I help clients make sense of these shifts with compassion and clarity. Whether you’re adjusting to a new diagnosis, grieving a partner, managing multiple medical conditions, or feeling overwhelmed by life changes, you don’t have to navigate it alone. My approach is warm, grounding, and practical. I blend trauma informed care with real world strategies to help you reduce anxiety, manage stress, cope with grief, and regain a sense of control. I meet you exactly where you are, emotionally, physically, and medically. We move at a pace that respects your energy and capacity. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor with extensive experience working with adults facing trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use concerns, life transitions, relationship challenges, and co-occurring mental health conditions. Throughout my career, I have worked in outpatient, residential, and community-based settings, helping individuals navigate some of life's most difficult experiences while rediscovering their strengths and sense of purpose. In addition to my clinical experience, I am a United States Air Force veteran and former first responder. These experiences have given me firsthand insight into the unique challenges associated with high-stress professions, trauma exposure, operational demands, transition struggles, and the pressure of carrying significant responsibility while managing your own well-being. As a result, I have a particular passion for working with veterans, active-duty military members, first responders, healthcare professionals, and others whose careers require them to care for others while often neglecting themselves.

My approach to therapy is solution-focused, compassionate, and centered on helping clients build lasting skills. Rather than simply helping someone get through the current crisis, I want to equip them with the tools they need to navigate future challenges with greater confidence and independence. I focus on identifying and addressing the underlying issues that drive recurring patterns, whether that's unresolved childhood trauma, deeply held negative beliefs about oneself, or other core experiences. My goal is to help clients process those experiences, challenge unhelpful cognitions, and develop healthier, more adaptive beliefs about themselves. While it's important to acknowledge and address what's happening in a client's life right now, I believe lasting change comes from understanding and working through the deeper patterns that contribute to those challenges. I strive to balance supporting clients through present-day concerns with helping them create meaningful, long-term change.

Being the one who holds everything together can be exhausting, especially when your own needs go unnoticed. Perhaps you hold yourself to impossible standards, constantly questioning whether you've done enough. Maybe you're easily irritated, quick to anger, or carrying resentment you don't fully understand. You might avoid conflict, struggle to say no, or feel responsible for keeping everyone else happy. Or perhaps your struggles are quieter, showing up as harsh self-criticism, shame, or a persistent feeling that you're somehow not good enough. My practice focuses on supporting women navigating these experiences and the emotional exhaustion, relationship difficulties, and disconnection from self that may accompany them. Sometimes, understanding how we feel today involves exploring the experiences and relationships that have shaped us. Difficult childhood experiences, emotional neglect, abuse, painful relationships, and ongoing stress can influence how we view ourselves, manage emotions, and connect with others. Through a compassionate, collaborative, and nonjudgmental approach, we can explore the patterns that may be contributing to your struggles while developing healthier ways of responding to life's challenges. Together, we can work toward strengthening emotional awareness, establishing boundaries, building self-trust, and cultivating a more compassionate relationship with yourself. You deserve more than simply getting through each day. Therapy can be a space to begin moving beyond survival toward a life where you feel more grounded, connected, and able to thrive.

Hi, I'm Elizabeth Guinea, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida with 19 years of experience working with adults and couples navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Over the years, I've worked with people from many different worlds, facing different expectations and pressures. Beneath those differences, familiar patterns often emerge: beliefs, habits, and ways of relating that once served a purpose but now keeps you repeating the same problem, and situations. I focus on changing the pattern underneath the symptoms. One of my strengths is recognizing those patterns quickly and helping you do something about them. Together, we'll connect insight with practical changes that fit your life. My goal is simple: for you to leave each session better than when you walked in -with greater clarity, a useful skill, or a concrete next step. You might be the person everyone counts on. Maybe your life looks impressive from the outside, but it leaves you feeling drained inside. My approach is direct, approachable, and warm. I ask honest questions, share what I notice, and avoid vague therapy language. You don’t have to put on a front or worry about my feelings during our sessions. Together, we’ll figure out what’s really behind your anxiety, such as perfectionism, taking on too much, fear of falling behind, people-pleasing, or burnout, and practice real skills you can use right away. I also help with trauma and depression, even when it doesn’t look like the usual idea of "struggling." Sometimes, what seems like anxiety is actually a nervous system that’s been on high alert for a long time. It’s important to understand this, not just try to manage it. I draw on psychodynamic and psychoanalytic therapy to help us understand how your patterns started and why they continue. I also use CBT to give you practical tools you can use now. I work with people navigating the hard parts of everyday life — stress, burnout, self-doubt, the moments when your mind feels like it's working against you — as well as athletes and professionals performing under pressure. I completed my Masters in 2005, while also starting my journey in the field in 2004. I spent a year working in Opiate addiction but my true passion was children and families. I moved on to intensive services, working with underserved children and their families in rural areas, from 2005-2007. After leaving that position, I moved onto a company doing similar work. where I continued to work with children, families and adults that were underserved for 5 more years. I provided therapy in homes, schools and the office setting. I began to focus in on Trauma work as well as anxiety disorders to include OCD and all other anxiety disorders. After spending nearly 10 years in the field, I decided to get my license in the state of Florida (LMHC-Licensed Mental Health Counselor) and move into a management role where I worked for the past 13 years while also maintaining private clients. I supervise therapists, working to become licensed, so I spend a lot of time consulting on cases of all kinds. In this time I was also trained in various forms of trauma based cognitive behavioral approaches as well as EMDR (still learning however).

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Florida. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Florida from Miami to Jacksonville! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Florida.

Yes! If you use Evernorth you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have Evernorth you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
